The Charlotte Hornets put an end to their losing when they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. It was the team’s first win of the preseason after starting 0-3 in exhibition games this year. This was also the Hornets first preseason game in the Spectrum Center after playing in Greensboro and on the road against the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics.
Marvin Williams and Nicolas Batum returned to Charlotte’s starting line-up after sitting out the team’s last game against Boston to get some rest. Cody Zeller and Perry Ellis continued to sit out as they are still recovering from injuries. Aaron Harrison, Mike Tobey, Christian Wood, Andrew Andrews, Rasheed Sulaimon, and Treveon Graham did not get playing time in this one because of a coach’s decision.
Kemba Walker was off of his minutes restriction that limited him to nine minutes in the last two games. Instead, Steve Clifford said that he would play near 24 minutes tonight. He played in 23 minutes and recorded 15 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Quick Stings
After losing their opening three games to the likes of the Dallas Mavericks and two games against the Boston Celtics, the Hornets got a win over Minnesota in their first preseason game against the T-Wolves. They will play the Timberwolves on October 21st in their final preseason match. They are a developing, young, and athletic team which is a perfect match-up for Charlotte.
The Charlotte Hornets will next play against the Chicago Bulls in the preseason on October 17th. That game will take place in Chicago at the United Center in an away game for the Hornets. The two teams will face off three times during the regular season this year.
