Celtics missing another key player for Game 2 vs Hawks

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 5:35 p.m. ET

ATLANTA (AP) The Boston Celtics will be without another key player for Game 2 of the NBA playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.

Kelly Olynyk is sitting out because of an injured right shoulder. He tweaked the shoulder in Game 1 and, according to coach Brad Stevens, has been ''in a considerable amount of pain'' since then. He was unable to practice on Monday.

The Celtics are already without guard Avery Bradley, who sustained a severely strained right hamstring in the opener. Bradley will undergo an MRI on Wednesday after the team returns to Boston, but he's not expected to return in the best-of-seven series that the Hawks lead 1-0.

Bradley is the Celtics' second-leading scorer and best perimeter defender. Marcus Smart will start in his place in Game 2.
