Celtics G Rondo out again

Published Dec. 28, 2010 11:20 p.m. ET

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will miss his fifth straight game on Tuesday when he sits out against the Indiana Pacers with a sprained left ankle.

Rondo, the league leader with 13.8 assists per game, hasn't played since a 10-point, 14-rebound effort at New York on Dec. 15. He was helped off the court early in the fourth quarter against the Knicks, then he returned and finished the game.

Boston also is without backup Delonte West, who is sidelined after having surgery on his broken right wrist on Nov. 30.

Boston is 3-1 without Rondo and still has the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics are coming off an 86-78 loss at Orlando on Dec. 25.
