Carroll's 25 lead Hawks past Clippers, 107-104

ATLANTA (AP) Kyle Korver said the Atlanta Hawks' four- and nine-game winning streaks earlier in the season were met with some skepticism because they included few victories over respected opponents.

Now the Hawks have another streak that's not so easily dismissed.

DeMarre Carroll scored a career-high 25 points and the Hawks rallied from a 13-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 107-104 on Tuesday night for their fifth straight victory.

Al Horford had 20 points for Southeast Division-leading Atlanta, which has won 14 of 15. The five-game winning streak has come against Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, Dallas and the Clippers. Only the wins over the Bulls and Clippers came at home.

''Everyone kind of said let's wait and see who they are when they start playing some tougher teams,'' Korver said. ''We've had a tough little stretch here and I think we've played well. We won some games on the road and obviously it was a big win here.''

Blake Griffin had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers. Chris Paul scored 19 points.

''We were there,'' Paul said. ''They were on the ropes in the third quarter. We had a chance to sort of put them away. ... We should have won that game. We were right there. But we didn't.''

Los Angeles has lost three of four, including back-to-back road losses against the Spurs and Hawks. Coach Doc Rivers said he's not worried.

''No. I'm fine with where we're playing,'' Rivers said. ''It was a tough trip. I'm not going to over-analyze it.''

The Hawks survived a hectic final 30 seconds. A layup by J.J. Redick, who had 18 points, cut Atlanta's lead to 104-102 with 18 seconds remaining. Korver answered with two free throws.

After Redick made two of three free throws, Korver was tied up by Matt Barnes for a jump ball with 9.5 seconds remaining. Korver won the tip and Horford made one of two free throws. Griffin missed a last-second 3-pointer.

Korver thought he was fouled on the play that led to the jump ball.

''There was some anger in that jump,'' he said.

Carroll led Atlanta with 10 rebounds.

Rivers said before the game he wasn't going to rest any of his players following the trip from San Antonio because ''My eyes told me that they wanted to play.''

The Clippers' strong first half included a 17-0 run in the second quarter.

The Hawks were stronger in the second half. Atlanta scored the first nine points of the fourth period for a 90-83 lead.

Jamal Crawford scored eight straight points - two 3-pointers and two free throws - to set the pace in the Clippers' dominant second quarter. The Clippers' 17-0 run turned a 40-30 deficit into a 47-40 lead.

Clippers: Crawford had 18 points. ... Los Angeles shot 50 percent from the field and forced nine turnovers while outscoring the Hawks 32-19 in the second period. But the Clippers shot 40.2 percent for the game. ... F Spencer Hawes (left knee bruise) missed his seventh straight game.

Hawks: Atlanta committed 11 turnovers in the first half, leading to 13 points for the Clippers. Atlanta had only three turnovers in the second half. ... Korver's two late free throws extended his team-record streak to 52 consecutive free throws. ... The Hawks made 12 of 16 free throws in the third quarter.

SCHRODER STARTS AGAIN

Hawks point guard Jeff Teague played almost 24 minutes off the bench after missing three games with a strained left hamstring. Dennis Schroder, coming off a career-high 22 points in a win at Dallas on Monday night, made his fourth start.

Schroder had five points with four assists and four turnovers. Teague had nine points and six assists.
