Hornets Make Statement Win Over Atlanta
“here’s a statement presented without context: The Hornets look awesome this season. After an impressive 100-96 comeback win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, Charlotte now sits at 8-3 and within striking distance of the Eastern Conference lead” (fanragsports.com)
The Charlotte Hornets had their biggest win of the season with their comeback over the Hawks. This statement win could give the Hornets plenty of momentum going forward.

Charlotte Travel to New Orleans
“The Charlotte Hornets (8-3) are on a two game winning streak following a win at home against the red hot Atlanta Hawks, with a 100-96 victory. The New Orleans Pelicans improved to (3-10) as they surpassed the struggling Portland Trail Blazers with a 113-101 win at home. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 38 points, nine rebounds and six assists.” (realsport101.com)
Anthony Davis is a one-man wrecking crew but he doesn’t have much help around him. Despite being on the road, the Hornets should have the upper hand heading into this one. Charlotte must not overlook this dangerous New Orleans team as they already have nothing to lose with their slow start.
MJ Praises Russell Westbrook
“Michael Jordan praised Russell Westbrook for his “sense of loyalty” in his speech inducting the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Thursday in Oklahoma City. “Another thing you guys should be proud of is the sense of loyalty this kid has shown,” Jordan said as the crowd burst into an extended cheer. Following the departure of Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors in July, Westbrook responded by signing an extension with the Thunder in August. “He could’ve easily come to Charlotte,” Jordan said, smiling.” (basketballinsiders.com)

It is crazy to think that Michael Jordan introduced Russell Westbrook for his induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. RW is a member of the Jordan Brand family but the fact that MJ praised Westbrook and even went as far to compare Russell to himself at one point. Jordan even threw in a joke that Westbrook could’ve joined the Charlotte Hornets.
Wood and Harrison Star in Greensboro Swarm Loss
“Christian Wood recorded a double double for Greensboro with 23 points and 13 rebounds while Aaron Harrison collected 21 points.” (theweeklynews.ca)
While Christian Wood and Aaron Harrison both impressed in their Greensboro Swarm debuts, the team still failed to grab their first win of the season. They fell to 0-3 on the young season with the 100-87 loss. It is good that Wood and Harrison are getting some much needed playing time in the D-League. Their future with the Charlotte Hornets starts in Greensboro.
