Banged-up Heat missing Wade, Chalmers, Oden, Allen

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:59 p.m. ET

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Miami star Dwyane Wade will miss the Heat's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Wade says his right hamstring isn't healthy enough for him to play Friday night. Wade has played in just 51 games this season, sitting out many by design because the two-time defending NBA champions want to rest his sore knees to make sure he's ready for the playoffs.

Heat guard Mario Chalmers was ruled out for the game against the Pistons because of injured right quadriceps. Chalmers says he was kneed in the thigh in Wednesday's game at Indiana.

Miami listed Ray Allen and Greg Oden as inactive against Detroit. Allen has been out with the flu. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says he wants to rest Oden's back.
