Atlanta Hawks Training Camp Roster Set After Recent Signings

The Atlanta Hawks will head into training camp with a full 20-man roster after signing three players in the last two days.

The NBA season is getting closer and closer with training camp less than two weeks away.

The Atlanta Hawks’ roster is now set at the maximum amount of 20 players after signing three players including Richard Solomon, Will Bynum, and Ryan Kelly to non-guaranteed contracts.

Bynum is familiar with the area, as he used to star for Georgia Tech in his collegiate years. he has played eight years in the NBA averaging 8.8 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game. He last played for the Washington Wizards in 2014-15. Bynum appeared in seven games before returning to China to play in the CBA.

Kelly was taken 48th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. In three seasons, the former Duke Blue Devil averaged 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 147 total games.

Solomon is a 6’11” big man out of California University who went undrafted in 2014. Since then, he spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s D-League affiliate, Blue, and averaged 8.5 points and 6.9 rebounds in 18 minutes per game.

Let’s take a look at how the roster looks heading into training camp:

Point guards: Dennis Schroder, Jarrett Jack, Malcolm Delaney, Will Bynum

Shooting guards: Kyle Korver, Tim Hardaway Jr.

Small forwards: Kent Bazemore, Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry, Thabo Sefolosha

Power forwards: Paul Millsap, Kris Humphries, Mike Scott, Mike Muscala, Matt Costello, Ryan Kelly

Centers: Dwight Howard, Tiago Splitter, Edy Tavares, Richard Solomon

Training camp will be crucial for this Hawks team to create chemistry as quickly as possible. Ensuring that Schroder is making the transition into the starting role smoothly while Howard adjusts to the new offensive and defensive schemes.

The Hawks will play in their first preseason game on October 6 at Memphis to take on the Grizzlies.
