CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Shawn Langdon led Top Fuel qualifying Friday in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals with a run of 3.753 seconds at 321.81 mph.

''The first run we started out in lane No. 2 made a good run,'' said Langdon, the defending Top Fuel season champion. ''We changed a couple things from the last race in Las Vegas. We're just trying to work on a few areas of the car we've been struggling with and missing on Sunday.''

Ron Capps topped the Funny Car field, Chris McGaha took the Pro Stock lead, and Michael Ray was the fastest in Pro Stock Motorcycle in the event that features racing in four lanes instead of the traditional two.

Capps had a run of 4.059 at 320.58 in a Dodge Charger, McGaha ran a 6.523 at 213.10 in a Chevy Camaro, and Michael Ray finished in 6.816 at 197.02 on a Buell.
