Lewis Hamilton has been allowed by the FIA to change a tire he damaged in Q2 in Baku, and which was from the set on which he was supposed to start.

Hamilton flat-spotted the left front of that set before he set the time that earned him his grid spot. Under the rules, drivers can change tires for one of a similar age, at the FIA's discretion, and that permission was granted today.

Hamilton had also locked up with two of his other qualifying sets, and the replacement is believed to be from his fourth set. That left front was not damaged when he hit the wall with the right front, an incident that ended his session.
