Josef Newgarden and Conor Daly were both lucky to survive a crash during the Firestone 600 Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.

The incident took place on Lap 43 when Conor Daly got loose coming out of Turn 4. He then tried to correct the wheel and, in doing so, slid up the track and collected Newgarden.

Newgarden’s car was turned on it’s side and slid roof-first into the wall on the front straight. Newgarden was able to climb out of his car under his own power but then sat down next to his machine. He was carried off on a stretcher but gave a thumbs up to the crowd. Daly was able to walk away OK.
