Luke Rodgers scored the first two goals of his MLS career and added an assist to lead the New York Red Bulls to a 3-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday night in a game played in a driving rainstorm.

The win was the first for the Red Bulls (2-1-2) since the season opener March 19 and snapped a three-game winless streak. It also came at the expense of the Earthquakes (1-2-2), who shocked and upset the Red Bulls, the MLS Eastern Conference regular season champions, in the opening round of the 2010 MLS Cup playoffs.

Thierry Henry, who had an assist earlier in the game, scored his first goal of the season on a header with three minutes left, with Rodgers providing the assist.

Rodgers scored his goals in the second and 15th minute.
