US golfer Uihlein takes lead of Spanish Open

American golfer Peter Uihlein shot a 4-under 68 Friday to take a one-shot lead after the second round of the Spanish Open.

The 23-year-old Uihlein hit six birdies to go with two bogeys on the Parador de El Saler course for a 6-under total of 138.

Felipe Aguilar of Chile stayed in the hunt for his second European Tour win, sitting one stroke back alongside France's Raphael Jacquelin and Sweden's Rikard Karlberg.

Five players were another shot back, while local favorite Sergio Garcia is seven strokes off the lead after a 73.
