Bailey McElwain was without a college scholarship offer just a few weeks ago as he prepared to head to the west coast to participate in Stanford's camp. Now, McElwain is the newest member of Stanford's 2016 recruiting class.

On the heels of his standout performance at the Stanford camp, McElwain was offered a scholarship by head coach David Shaw and committed on the spot.

"I sat in the film room and watched the highlight tape for a little bit" McElwain said, according to Andy Drukarev of the Cardinal Sports Report. "It was about 15 minutes. And then Coach Taylor and the offensive coordinator spoke with me. We got to sit down for a little while. (Then) I met with Coach Shaw. He was like, 'We're just going to get to the (point): You have a scholarship offer."

McElwain continued:

"As soon as he offered me I asked Coach Shaw if it was committable," he said. "He said, 'Heck yeah, it is.' I told him, 'I'm committed.' He was like, 'Wow,' and he stood up and he shook my hand. We were out in the hallway and he talked to one coach and he screamed it down the hall, and he was like freshly offered, freshly committed. All the coaches came out there and they were all congratulating me. It was awesome."
