Skillon leads Morgan State to 42-3 rout over Savannah State
BALTIMORE (AP) Moses Skillon threw one touchdown pass and ran for two more scores, and Morgan State routed Savannah State 42-3 on Saturday night.
Skillon had 134 yards passing and ran for another 104 yards to lead the Bears (3-2, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) to their first 3-0 start in conference play since 2009. Morgan State has won eight-straight against the Tigers (1-4, 1-2).
Morgan State led 7-3 at halftime before erupting for five second-half touchdowns.
Skillon broke free for a 42-yard touchdown run. Orlando Johnson scored on a 3-yard run, and Marcolm Banks caught a 34-yarder from Skillon. Peterson Janvier returned a blocked field goal 100 yards into the end zone, and Brandon Griffin capped the scoring by scooping up a fumble and returning it 30 yards for a touchdown.
Leon Prunty threw for 114 yards with an interception for Savannah State.
