New Neb D coordinator Papuchis to be paid $300,000

John Papuchis is getting a 50 percent raise for taking over as Nebraska's new defensive coordinator, with his salary going from $200,000 a year to $300,000.

The athletic department provided football coaching salary information to The Associated Press on Friday.

Coach Bo Pelini promoted Papuchis from defensive line coach to defensive coordinator after Carl Pelini left to become head coach at Florida Atlantic. Carl Pelini was coordinator for four seasons and earned $375,000 in 2011.

Tim Beck is being paid $365,000 after earning $345,000 in his first season as offensive coordinator. Rick Kaczenski, who left Iowa to become the defensive line coach, is being paid $195,000.

Bo Pelini's salary goes to $2,875,000 beginning March 1. That's up from $2,775,000.
