Michigan State Football: Weather report vs. Furman

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Here’s your Friday night weather report for Michigan State Football’s season opener in East Lansing versus Furman.

Heading to Friday night’s Michigan State Football game against the Furman Paladins at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing? It’s sure to be one heck of a season-opening game against one of the FCS’ middle-of-the-pack teams, but the first game of the year is always exciting.

If you’re planning on making the trip to East Lansing for the game at 7 p.m. ET and you don’t know what the weather is set to be like, we’ve got you covered. Lucky for Spartan fans, clear skies and fall weather is on the way.

Temp at kickoff: 70°F, sunny
Temp at end of game: 61°F, clear skies
Precipitation: 0% chance

Down to 61 degrees by the end of the game? If that doesn’t sound like fall football in the month of September, I don’t know what does. Starting the game at a cool 70 degrees isn’t too shabby, either, but there is no precipitation on the radar that could affect anything such as Tyler O’Connor’s passing game.

It’s his first time starting in Spartan Stadium and he’s trying to give the home fans a good show. Donnie Corley will be another name to watch that wasn’t around a season ago as the true freshman receiver is expected to do big things in 2016.

Many fans are expecting the game to be over by halftime, but if you plan to stay the whole time, you might want to pack yourself a sweatshirt.
