If losing at home on the national stage wasn't bad enough, Mississippi State appeared to suffer a catastrophic injury to star receiver De'Runnya Wilson Saturday against Alabama. Fortunately for Bulldog Nation, Wilson is expected to make a complete recovery.

MSU head coach Dan Mullen was recently asked the latest with his star playmaker's status.

“He’s going to be fine,” Mullen said. “We’ll see how he’ll be this week. I don’t think we’ll know until later in the week what his status will be. But it’s not anything that’s a threatening injury.”

Wilson's injury didn't look serious when it occurred, however the junior stayed down for several minutes before getting up on his own power before being carted off to the locker room in the fourth quarter.

“In the game, you see it all the time, and it’s scary, with head and neck injuries,” Mullen said, but added that luckily, the reality wasn’t as scary as it seemed. It’s nothing that’s going to be lasting for him.”
