Central Arkansas dominates Houston Baptist 43-7

HOUSTON (AP) Hayden Hildebrand completed 19 of 24 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns to lead Central Arkansas to its third straight win, a 43-7 victory over Houston Baptist on Saturday.

Central Arkansas (3-2, 3-0 Southland Conference) has scored more than 40 points while limiting the opposition to less than 100 rushing yards in the last three games. The defense held Houston Baptist (1-4, 0-3) to a minus 9 yards rushing.

Dominque Thomas, who had a career-high 126 yards rushing in the 42-14 win over Abilene Christian last week, ran for 119 yards on 18 carries against the Huskies.

Desmond Smith hauled in four passes for 78 yards and Jatavious Wilson grabbed two for 53 yards.

Brandon Cox returned a punt 93 yards to give the Bears a 13-0 lead with 1:58 left in the first quarter.

Max Staver threw for 276 yards on 22-of-40 passing for Houston Baptist.
