Impact Diaz helped stake the Athletics to one of their trademark early leads that usually end up evaporating when he brought home Ramon Laureano with a second-inning single. The multi-hit effort was his first of the season and pushed Diaz's average to a solid .258, but making consistent contact continues to be an issue -- the 22-year-old's strikeout rate is now up to 35.5 percent after he whiffed for the 11th time in the last eight games Saturday.

Jeurys Familia - Blows save Saturday Familia (0-1) took the loss and blew the save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over one inning. He struck out two.
Impact Familia was handed the ball with Oakland clinging to a one-run lead in the ninth inning, but he couldn't get the job done. The right-hander allowed three of the first five batters he faced to reach base -- two by walk -- and saw the lead disappear when Jake Fraley tagged him for a two-out, two-run double. Familia had notched a save in two of his previous three outings coming into Saturday, so he's likely still going to see chances to close. However, he's posted a poor 6.57 ERA and 8:12 K:BB on the campaign, and given that the A's have started with an ugly 5-28 record, Familia is likely the least desirable closer in the game for fantasy purposes.

Kyle Muller - Shows improvement in no-decision Muller allowed one run on five hits and two walks over five innings against Cincinnati on Saturday. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Muller entered the contest having given up 16 earned runs over 13 innings across his previous three starts, so a positive outing was much needed. The southpaw didn't overpower the Reds -- he struck out just three batters and notched a meager six swinging strikes -- but he was able to limit them to a Luke Maile solo homer. The improvement should help Muller build some confidence, but it's unlikely to put his name in the minds of fantasy managers. With a 6.28 ERA and a 20:15 K:BB over 28.2 innings, he's pretty far off the radar for the time being.
