Mason Miller - Will be activated this week Athletics manager Mark Kotsay confirmed Monday that Miller (elbow) will be activated at some point this week, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Impact Miller made a rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, so the earliest he figures to rejoin the A's rotation would be Friday in Texas following Thursday's off day. The young right-hander threw just 37 pitches over four perfect innings Saturday, so his first start back would be relatively abbreviated. Miller has been out since early May because of a UCL sprain in his right elbow.

Ken Waldichuk - Getting ball Tuesday Waldichuk will start for the Athletics on Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Impact Waldichuk had seemed to be lined up for Monday's start, but the A's will push him back a day with Luis Medina (blister) coming off the injured list to start Monday. The left-hander has collected a 5.92 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 114:64 K:BB over 114 innings for Oakland this season.

Esteury Ruiz - Taking seat Monday Ruiz is Martin Gallegos of MLB.com for Monday's tilt versus the Blue Jays, Martin Gallegos reports.

Impact Ruiz's playing time has been sporadic over the last couple weeks, as he had started three of the previous four games prior to this one but before that made only one start in a six-game stretch. His stolen-base upside keeps his fantasy value afloat, but his stock has nonetheless taken a hit with the lack of consistent at-bats.

Luis Medina - Activated for Monday's start Medina (blister) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Impact Medina will rejoin the Athletics' rotation Monday against the Blue Jays after missing the last couple weeks with a blister on his pitching hand. The young right-hander went just 3.1 innings in his lone rehab start, so he's probably not prepared to pitch terribly deep into Monday's outing.

Impact Snead holds a 4.63 ERA and 9:6 K:BB over 11.2 relief innings for the Athletics this season. His roster spot is being absorbed by Luis Medina (blister), who is coming off the injured list.

Francisco Pérez - Gets first win Sunday Perez (1-1) got the win over the Angels on Sunday, firing a scoreless two-thirds of an inning during which he recorded a strikeout.

Impact Perez was able to prevent further damage upon entering the seventh, after Adrian Martinez had allowed a game-tying solo home run to Luis Rengifo, striking out Shohei Ohtani and inducing an inning-ending lineout from Brandon Drury. The southpaw was then rewarded with his first big-league win when the Athletics rallied for six runs in the home half of the frame and held on for the victory. Impact Gelof played some small ball Sunday and teed up a couple of teammates for RBI with his pair of singles. The rookie recently went through a brief 1-for-18 funk over a five-game span, but he's bounced back with a pair of two-hit tallies in his last three contests and carries an impressive .266/.330/.532 slash line across his first 191 big-league plate appearances.

Tony Kemp - Delivers in pinch-hit capacity Kemp entered Sunday's win over the Angels as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and delivered a two-run single in his only plate appearance.

Impact Kemp stepped into the batter's box for Carlos Perez in the seventh inning and snapped a 4-4 tie with a single to center that brought home Zack Gelof, Ryan Noda and Brent Rooker, the latter on a throwing error. Kemp ended up at third base on the play and subsequently came across to score in his own right on a Shea Langeliers double, making it quite the eventful cameo. Muller has coughed up nine runs over eight innings since returning to the starting rotation. For the season, he's sporting a 7.62 ERA with a 52:34 K:BB across 15 appearances (13 starts). Muller could get moved back to a long relief role with Luis Medina (finger) and Mason Miller (elbow) both expected to return soon.
