Cam Bedrosian - Designated for assignment Bedrosian was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Tuesday.
Impact Bedrosian signed a minor-league deal with the A's in late April and was later called up May 21. His Tuesday DFA comes as a bit of surprise given that he allowed just two earned runs across nine innings with the Athletics, but J.B. Wendelken's (oblique) activation from the injured list ultimately leaves him as the odd man out of the Oakland bullpen. Bedrosian should have a strong chance of attracting interest from clubs searching for bullpen help on the waiver wire.

J.B. Wendelken - Reinstated Tuesday Wendelken (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.
Impact Wendelken had been on the injured list since early May with a left oblique strain. He appeared in four rehab outings with Triple-A Las Vegas starting June 17, allowing two runs across five innings. He'll now rejoin the Oakland bullpen and figures to see high-leverage innings before too long.

Vimael Machín - Demoted to Triple-A Machin has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact Machin was recalled from the minors Friday but saw just one at-bat before being sent back down. The A's have yet to announce a corresponding move.

Matt Olson - Continues producing in win Olson went 1-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Giants on Sunday.
Impact The versatile slugger got it done with some small ball Sunday, boosting his season OBP to an elite, career-high .379 by reaching safely in the 24th game over his last 26. Olson's .296 average also ranks as a new high-water mark and augments what could ultimately turn out to be a career-best campaign for Olson if he remains healthy.
JUNE 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Elvis Andrus - Productive in win Andrus went 1-for-4 with an RBI sacrifice fly, a run and a stolen base in a win over the Giants on Sunday.
Impact The veteran shortstop extended the Athletics' lead to 5-0 with his sixth-inning sac fly, while the stolen base was Andrus' sixth of the season. The solid effort Sunday was an extension of what has been a productive June for Andrus, one in which he's now generated a .270/.313/.382 slash line with 10 doubles, 10 RBI, six walks, three steals and 13 runs across 96 plate appearances.

Matt Chapman - Plates two runs Sunday Chapman went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over San Francisco.
Impact Chapman made his presence felt early, as his two-run single in the top of the first inning set the tone for Oakland offensively. More importantly, the star third baseman pushed his hitting streak to 15 games and has been seeing the ball extremely well over the last few weeks. Despite hitting just .230 on the season. Chapman owns a .284 average across 88 at-bats this month.
JUNE 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Aramis Garcia - Records two RBI Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Impact Garcia was one of two players that recorded multiple knocks for the Athletics in this game and made his presence felt in both the sixth and seventh innings -- he delivered RBI singles both times, scoring Chad Pinder and Matt Chapman, respectively. The backstop is riding a four-game hitting streak, but his limited role and inconsistent playing time conspire against his upside.
JUNE 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Cole Irvin - Spectacular against Giants Irvin (6-7) earned the win Sunday against San Francisco after hurling eight scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight.
Impact Irvin tied a season-high mark for innings pitched and ended just one strikeout away from tying his season-best output, but he also tied a season-low mark in hits allowed and limited the walks -- he's yet to issue more than two free passes in any outing thus far. The southpaw has already made 16 starts this season and owns a 3.64 ERA, and while he's not expected to deliver this kind of results on a weekly basis, it's safe to say he's going through one of his most productive stretches of the campaign -- he owns a 2.64 ERA across five June starts. His next outing is slated to come this weekend at home against the Red Sox.

Stephen Piscotty - Feeling better since injection Piscotty (wrist) seems to be feeling better since receiving a cortisone injection Tuesday, according to manager Bob Melvin, the Associated Press reports.
Impact The veteran outfielder still doesn't have a firm date for a return to baseball activities, but Melvin did note it seems like Piscotty has "turned a corner in how it's feeling" over the last couple of days. Piscotty clearly appears to be headed for a longer stay than the minimum on the injured list, but he appears to have a solid chance to get some game action in before the All-Star break.
JUNE 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Homer Bailey - Signs minor-league contract Bailey signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Tuesday.
Impact Bailey was let go by Minnesota in September of 2020, and he'll report to Triple-A Las Vegas going forward. The right-hander didn't appear with a team during spring training, but he made the roster for Team USA during the Olympic qualifying tournament. The 35-year-old has made 33 major-league starts across the last two seasons, and he posted a 4.52 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 171.1 innings during that time.

J.B. Wendelken - Effective in latest rehab outing Wendelken (oblique) allowed a hit while striking out two during two scoreless innings in his rehab outing with Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.
Impact It marked Wendelken's fourth outing with the Aviators and it was arguably his best showing since beginning the rehab stint June 17. Per Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle, manager Bob Melvin said that the right-hander could be activated "sooner than later." It's not clear whether Wendelken will get one more outing in with Las Vegas before being reinstated, but he figures to rejoin the Athletics bullpen at some point during this week's homestand, assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks.

Sean Murphy - Gets rest Sunday Murphy is not starting Sunday against San Francisco, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Murphy will yield the catching duties to Aramis Garcia after going hitless across eight at-bats during the first two games of the series. He could be an option for Bob Melvin off the bench, however.
JUNE 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Jed Lowrie - Not starting Sunday Lowrie is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Giants, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Lowrie went 3-for-8 while starting at second base during the first two games of the weekend series. He figures to be an option off the bench Sunday, with Tony Kemp set to start at the keystone.
