Deolis Guerra - Returns to Oakland Guerra (elbow) signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Monday.
Impact Guerra was a fairly prominent contributor out of the Oakland bullpen in 2021, maintaining a 4.11 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 65.2 innings. However, Guerra underwent Tommy John surgery in April and missed the entire 2022 season. He was non-tendered by the club earlier in the offseason and will now have to earn back his spot on the 40-man roster once healthy.

Jace Peterson - Contract with Oakland official Peterson's two-year, $9.5 million contract with the Athletics was formally announced Tuesday.
Impact Peterson has put up a .706 OPS with 14 home runs and 22 stolen bases over the last two seasons in a utility role with the Brewers. He should play pretty regularly against righties and offers some deep-league consideration mostly because of his speed.

Impact Details of the trade are still emerging, but most notably, Atlanta acquired Sean Murphy and Milwaukee received William Contreras. Prospects Freddy Tarnok and Esteury Ruiz are going to Oakland alongside Muller, who was arguably Atlanta's top prospect. The left-handed starter struggled in three big-league appearances in 2022, but his Triple-A performance-3.41 ERA, 159:40 K:BB and a 1.18 WHIP in 134.2 innings inspire confidence in him becoming an effective big leaguer. Atlanta's strong rotation may have kept Muller in the minors longer than he needed. Oakland, on the other hand, figures to work Muller into its starting mix to begin the 2023 season.
