Bears vs. 49ers Week 17 Highlights: Niners Hang On, Win Thriller in Santa Clara

The Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers clinched postseason berths prior to Sunday, but that had no influence on how these high-powered teams approached Week 17.

The NFC's No. 5 seed in the 49ers (12-4) dueled the No. 2 seed, NFC North-champion Bears (11-5) in a gripping Sunday Night Football showdown to the very end. And, with the game on the line, Chicago and Caleb Williams fell just short on a big night for Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey and the Niners.

The 49ers will now enter Week 18 with a chance to claim the No. 1 seed against the Seahawks, while the Bears, who may rest starters, can finish as high as No. 2 or 3.
