Runner-up in Charlotte Ancer closed with a final round five-under 66 at the Wells Fargo Championship, finishing one shot behind champion Rory McIlroy.
Impact Ancer appeared to be out of contention heading into Sunday starting five shots off the lead, but he vaulted up the leaderboard with five birdies in his final 10 holes to post the low round of the day. He was unable to catch a hot McIlroy, however, who only bogeyed the closing hole to outlast Ancer by one. In his typical form, Ancer was fueled by stellar iron play - leading the field for the week in strokes-gained approach.
