Chubba Purdy - Scores in relief duty Purdy went 7-of-11 passing for 35 yards and one interception while adding 29 yards and a touchdown over five rushes during Saturday's 49-14 loss to Oklahoma.
Impact Purdy stepped in for starting quarterback Casey Thompson after Nebraska's second-team offense took the field midway through the third quarter. The backup signal-caller notched Nebraska's only score outside of a 32-yard touchdown reception by Trey Palmer on the team's opening offensive series. Purdy's so-so performance in relief for Thompson does not figure to create any sort of position controversy heading into Nebraska's next game against Indiana on Oct. 1.

Anthony Grant - Swallowed up in loss Grant rushed 13 times for 36 yards during Saturday's 49-14 loss to Oklahoma.
Impact Grant found very little success following his first two rushes, which went for 11 and 12 yards in the first quarter, respectively. The JUCO transfer led Nebraska's woeful offense in total carries before registering his final rushes on the team's second series of the second half. Grant should have more room to operate during the Cornhuskers' next game against Indiana on Oct. 1.

Casey Thompson - Smothered in blowout Thompson went 14-of-20 passing for 129 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 49-14 loss to Oklahoma. He also lost a total of 30 rushing yards over five carries.
Impact Thompson was unable to muster much production at all against the Sooners revamped defense under new head coach Brent Venables. After going a flawless 4-of-4 for 68 yards and his lone passing touchdown on the Huskers opening drive of the game, the junior signal-caller only completed 10 of his 16 passes while being sacked four times. Nevertheless, Thompson still finished with his highest completion percentage of the season (70 percent), and he should see easier competition when Nebraska next faces Indiana on Oct. 1.

Trey Palmer - Hauls in first TD grab Palmer caught all but one of his 11 targets for 92 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 49-14 loss to Oklahoma.
Impact Palmer got the scoring started during Saturday's game with a 32-yard touchdown reception after being heavily featured on the Huskers' opening drive of the game, including three total catches for 57 yards. However, the LSU transfer managed to net just 35 additional receiving yards over his subsequent eight receptions against the Sooners defense, and he also coughed up a fumble on Nebraska's first series of the second half. Palmer then tallied just two more catches from backup quarterback Chubba Purdy over the remainder of Saturday's loss, thus making up with almost exactly one-half of Nebraska's total team receptions (21) against Oklahoma.
