2025 College Football Playoff Buzz: North Carolina Hires Bobby Petrino as OC

Jailen Butler - Headed to Kansas Butler will transfer to Kansas, per Michael Swain of 247Sports.com.

Impact Butler caught nine passes for 59 yards and one touchdown with Old Dominion in 2025, and will now get a shot at the Power Four level with what appears to be one season of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end will look to immediately compete for playing time with the Jayhawks.

Impact Connington entered the portal after making 12 of his 16 field goal attempts at Michigan State during the 2025 campaign. He should slot in as Kansas' starting kicker.

Impact McMillan will join the Jayhawks following three seasons with Buffalo. The 6-foot-1 receiver had a breakout season with the Bulls in 2025, catching 62 passes for 981 yards and three touchdowns across 12 games. He will retain a single year of eligibility with Kansas.

Laith Marjan - Missed FG in last three games Marjan missed his only field goal attempt and made all three of his extra-point tries during Friday's 31-21 defeat against Utah.

Impact Marjan started the season with at least one made field goal and was perfect in each of Kansas' first nine games. That was not sustainable as he did miss at least one field goal in each of the Jayhawks' last three games. He ended the year with a solid 14-for-17 on field goal attempts. He was a perfect 40-for-40 on extra-point tries during the 2025 season. He'll have the opportunity to return for another collegiate season in 2026.

Impact Kubecka did not record a catch in the season finale but previously recorded at least one catch in nine straight games. The redshirt sophomore grabbed 17 catches (on 31 targets) for 157 yards and a touchdown in his first full collegiate season at Kansas.

Impact Groen failed to record a catch for the first time this year in the season finale. It's also worth noting that reserve tight end, Leyton Cure, recorded his first touchdown with the Jayhawks. Groen ended his senior season at Kansas with 36 catches (on 49 targets) for 450 yards and five touchdowns. It was a career year for Groen who played his first three years of college football at Rice.

Pickett and Emmanuel Henderson provided QB Jalon Daniels with a lot of talent and skill at the wideout positions. Unfortunately, it ended up just one win shy of bowl eligibility.

Impact Henderson recorded his third 100-yard receiving game of the season in the Kansas' season finale. It was the team's final game as they fell short of bowl eligibility by one win. Henderson has been Kansas' best receiver during the 2025 season with 45 catches (on 76 targets) for 766 yards and five touchdowns. He'll have the opportunity to return for another season and be a focal point of a passing game.

Leshon Williams - Goes over century mark in finale Williams totaled 15 carries for 104 yards and gathered in 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Friday's 31-21 loss to Utah.

Impact Williams logged his second 100-yard rushing performance of the season with the Jayhawks. Senior Daniel Hishaw also tallied a 100-yard rushing performance against the Utes as Kansas had some success on the ground. Williams, an Iowa transfer, had a solid year with the Jayhawks with 97 carries for 560 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with five catches for 73 yards and another two scores. Williams best collegiate season was at Iowa in 2023 when he rushed for 821 yards and a touchdown on 170 carries.

Daniel Hishaw Jr. - Best performance in final game Hishaw accrued 22 carries for 107 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 31-21 loss to Utah.

Impact Hishaw recorded his first 100-yard rushing performance of the 2025 season which will likely be his final collegiate game. The senior fought through some injuries on his way to 124 carries for 587 yards and five touchdowns with the Jayhawks. Teammate Leshon Williams also had over 100 rushing yards against Utah as Kansas found success on the ground. Hishaw, a five-year Kansas player, had his best season in 2023 when he rushed for 121 carries for 626 yards and eight touchdowns.

Isaiah Marshall - Logs 36 rushing yards Marshall was 0-for-0 passing for zero yards during Friday's 31-21 defeat against Utah. He also had five rushes for 36 yards.

Impact Marshall logged a season-high five rushing attempts in the loss to Utah. The young reserve quarterback rushed for 160 yards on 15 carries during the 2025 season. With QB Jalon Daniels being a senior, the job in Kansas will be open next year and Marshall will have the opportunity to compete with others for the starting job in 2026.
