Makhi Hughes - Commits to Houston Hughes has committed to Houston, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reports.

Impact When it became clear that Hughes would be limited for 2025, Hughes opted to redshirt the year and transfer colleges. The running back's next team requires a replacement for Dean Connors, Houston's primary RB last year. Though not for a Power Conference team, Hughes has excelled, backed up by Tulane's 2023 and 2024 seasons featuring more than his 1,250 rushing yards. So as of Hughes' commitment, the expectation is that he will become a top option again during 2026.

Amare Thomas - Hits paydirt twice Thomas hauled in 7 of 9 targets for 66 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 38-35 win over LSU.

Impact Thomas scored two touchdowns in the bowl game, and he went on quite a tear to close out the season -- the wideout reeled in 36 catches for 437 yards and eight touchdowns over the final five games alone. Needless to say, he posted a career year in 2025, totaling 66 catches for 972 yards and 12 touchdowns. The UAB transfer wasted no time acclimating at the Big 12 level, and he'll have one season of eligibility remaining.

Conner Weigman - Tosses four scores vs. LSU Weigman was 27-for-36 passing for 236 yards and four touchdowns during Saturday's 38-35 win against LSU. He also had 13 rushes for 56 yards.

Impact Weigman had arguably his best game of the season as Houston won a thriller over LSU to close out the season on a high note. The senior quarterback completed 75 percent of his passes while tossing for four touchdowns for the second time this season. Unlike the first time he did that, however, in the Cougars' loss to West Virginia in Week 10, Weigman didn't turn the ball over and was uber-efficient. The gunsliger finishes the year with 2,711 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions on 65.1 percent completion, along with 700 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. It was a prolific year for the junior, who now must decide how to spend his last season of eligibility.

Tanner Koziol - Nine receptions during bowl Koziol hauled in 9 of 11 targets for 76 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 38-35 win versus LSU.

Impact For 2025, nine is Koziol's season-high in receptions. He logged a lot of them, with the tight end's 74 his second straight season with over 70. Koziol also recorded 727 receiving yards and six touchdowns, proving why he was showcased as one of the transfer portal's best TEs available prior to his transfer from Bowling Green.

Dean Connors - Excellent during bowl Connors had 16 rushes for 126 yards and one touchdown and caught all three targets for 12 yards during Saturday's 38-35 win over LSU.

Impact For only the second time in 2025, Connors surpassed 100 rushing yards. Though the running back fell only one touchdown short of 10 overall this year, he logged over 1,000 all-purpose yards for a third consecutive season, those ranging from his time with both Houston and Rice.
