Joey Hobert - Held in check again Hobert compiled eight receptions (on nine targets) for 54 yards during Thursday's 31-28 defeat against Arizona State.

Impact Hobert set a season high in receptions, but he couldn't do any damage downfield, averaging less than seven yards per catch. While Hobert hasn't been as dominant as he was in 2023, he still leads Texas State in receptions and receiving yards.

Jaden Williams - Catches pair of touchdowns Williams reeled in 4 of 7 targets for 75 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 31-28 loss against Arizona State.

Impact Williams rebounded from a one-catch Week 2 performance with a team-high 75 yards and two touchdowns. Through three games, the Boston College transfer has 12 receptions on 18 targets for 159 yards and three touchdowns.

Impact After amassing 28 carries in Week 1, Mahdi has combined for 23 rushes the past two weeks for a total of 94 yards (4.1 yards per carry). However, he's seen an increased role as a pass-catcher, hauling in four or more passes in back-to-back games. Through three outings, Mahdi has 250 yards and a touchdown on the ground in addition to 10 catches for 84 yards.

Impact McCloud attempted a season-high 44 passes Thursday and set a season high in passing touchdowns. The senior has been an effective runner, averaging 4.9 yards per carry through three games with a pair of rushing scores. McCloud has completed 67.3 percent of his attempts, racking up 815 yards and a 9:3 TD:INT.
