The true freshman from Montreal, Canada took over after superstar RB1 Kyle Monangai took a seat after logging 27 carries for 208 yards and three scores Saturday. Raymond thus scored the Scarlet Knights' final touchdown of the game on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Should Brown remain out Week 3, then Raymond should be in line to carry a substantial workload in this coming's Saturday's road game against Virginia Tech.

Kyle Monangai - Monster game again Week 2 Monangai notched 27 rushes for 208 yards and three touchdowns and hauled in their only target for three yards during Saturday's 49-17 victory over Akron.

Impact Monangai built upon his impressive Week 1 outing with a career-high rushing output Saturday. He also logged nine more carries than Week 1, as it seems he had a larger workload with No. 2 running back Samuel Brown (undisclosed) sidelined versus Akron. Monangai also matched his career-high for touchdowns in a game, moving his season total to four. The first two games of the seaosn have come against clearly inferior opponents for the Scarlet Knights. Nevertheless, Monangai has been undeniably dominant in these outings, as his 373 rushing yards through the first two weeks sits behind only Boise State's Ashton Jeanty (459) for the most in college football this season. The Scarlet Knight's 209-pound running back will look to keep this dominance rolling Week 3 at Virginia Tech -- a team that he totaled 143 rushing yards on 16 carries against last season.

Jordon Simmons - Punches score in loss Simmons posted nine carries for 109 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 49-17 loss against Rutgers.

Impact Simmons was perhaps one of the only bright spots of Akron's offense as the team got taken over by Rugters. The 5-foot-11 running back punched in a long rush score in the fourth quarter which did amount to most of his performance, but he will be leaned on continuously in the coming weeks with the Zips' volatile air attack.

Ben Finley - Struggles in second blowout Finley was 14-for-31 passing for 138 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 49-17 loss against Rutgers. He also had four rushes for 29 yards.

Impact Finley struggled again against Rutgers as he did against the Buckeyes in Akron's season opener, though he was able to play through the entire game against the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-3 quarterback had the main spot under center over Tahj Bullock, but both quarterbacks could be on the field in the coming weeks. Finely has the chance to recover next week against Colgate, especially as it'll be, hopefully, a less strong competitor.
