East Carolina hosts the UAB Blazers after Joran Riley scored 29 points in East Carolina's 75-67 loss to the Temple Owls
JANUARY 11 • Associated Press

Griffiths scores 24, Temple downs East Carolina 75-67

Led by Gavin Griffiths' 24 points, the Temple Owls defeated the East Carolina Pirates 75-67 on Wednesday
JANUARY 8 • Associated Press
Eli DeLaurier - Perfect in return DeLaurier (foot) closed with 10 points (5-5 FG), four rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes during Wednesday's 75-67 loss to Temple.
Impact DeLaurier didn't miss any of his five shots from the hardwood in his return to action after a seven-game absence. The sophomore started in his first five outings this season, but it's unclear if he'll do so in the near future.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Jordan Riley - Notches 29 points Riley totaled 29 points (12-19 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 75-67 loss to Temple.
Impact Riley has scored at least 21 points in five of his last six games. He has not helped himself of late and has made just 45 percent (9-of-20) from the free throw line. The 6-5 senior is playing heavy minutes (at least 35 in his last nine games) and has a high usage rate. Even if the Pirates continue to lose (and they have lost their last three games), Riley should put up big numbers.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Jayshayne Woodard - Question mark Wednesday Woodard (ankle) is questionable for East Carolina's clash with Temple.
Impact Woodard could potentially return Wednesday after a four-game absence. The senior guard averages 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Eli DeLaurier - Listed as questionable DeLaurier (foot) is questionable for East Carolina's clash with Temple.
Impact DeLaurier hasn't played since Nov. 27 and remains without a time table to return, but he's listed as questionable ahead of Wednesday night against the Owls, meaning he could feasibly make his return. If he isn't available, he's certainly nearing a return to action.

DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Woodard will miss a fourth consecutive game due to an ankle injury. The senior's next chance to play will come Jan. 7 at Temple. Considering he was deemed questionable before being downgraded to out, it looks as though Woodard is getting close to a return.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Jayshayne Woodard - Tabbed questionable Woodard (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Tulane.
Impact Woodard has been sidelined since Dec. 11 due to an ankle injury, but he'll have a shot at returning Wednesday to face Tulane. The senior wing has appeared in just five games this season due to injury, but he's started in two of those contests.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Grant Smith - Won't return this season Smith (undisclosed) is out for the season.

DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Daithi Quinn - Out for season Quinn is out for the season due to a knee injury, Stephen Igoe of 247 Sports reports.
Impact Specifics regarding Quinn's injury are unknown at this point, but it's severe enough to keep the freshman sidelined for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign. He didn't appear in a game this season and will likely retain four years of eligibility via medical redshirt.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Demitri Gardner - Added by ECU, immediately eligible Gardner has been added to the East Carolina roster and is eligible to play in Wednesday's game against Tulane, Stephen Igoe of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Gardner was a standout Division II player in 2024-25 and committed to Fordham for the 2025-26 season. However, he left the program after being left out of the rotation and will get a new chance at playing time with ECU. He won't have to miss any games, as he'll be eligible for Wednesday's contest. Whether he sees the court is uncertain, though.

Jordan Riley - Struggles from the field Riley posted 11 points (4-24 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), three rebounds and three steals in 35 minutes during Monday's 99-51 loss to North Carolina.
Impact Riley had his worst shooting game of the season and just barely managed to keep his double-digit scoring streak alive. He had averaged 26.5 points over his previous four games, but couldn't find the range against the Tar Heel defense. Riley has not made a 3-pointer in his last five games (12 attempts). The Pirates open American Conference play on New Year's Eve against Tulane. Riley averaged 17.0 points against the Green Wave last season in a split.
DECEMBER 23, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Giovanni Emejuru - Double-doubles in loss Emejuru registered 21 points (8-11 FG, 5-7 FT), 14 rebounds, one block and one steal over 34 minutes during Monday's 99-51 loss to North Carolina.
Impact Emejuru showed he could produce against top competition and was really the only Pirate to show up against the Tar Heels. He had his sixth double-double and third in the last five games. The 6-10 senior is averaging 14.2 points on 57.9 percent from the field and 9.5 rebounds. The Pirates open American Conference play on New Year's Eve against Tulane.
DECEMBER 23, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

The 6-foot-7 senior, who has missed eight games on the season due to an undisclosed injury, is averaging 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and one assist on 12.2 minutes per game in five appearances.

No. 12 North Carolina hosts Riley and East Carolina

East Carolina visits the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels after Joran Riley scored 24 points in the Pirates' 74-53 victory over the Presbyterian Blue Hose
DECEMBER 21, 2025 • Associated Press
Jayshayne Woodard - Out indefinitely Head coach Michael Schwartz indicated that Woodard (undisclosed) could be out for an unspecified length of time moving forward, per Stephen Igoe of 247Sports.com.
Impact Woodard has missed each of the past two games for East Carolina due to an undisclosed injury and looks to be heading for a longer absence. The 6-foot-7 wing previously missed five consecutive contests earlier in the year due to a leg injury but was able to make his return to action for a couple games before going down again. Schwartz seemed to be unsure of what was going to happen with Woodard as well as Eli Delaurier, indicating that the Pirates may have to figure out some depth for the foreseeable future.
DECEMBER 18, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Eli DeLaurier - No timetable for return DeLaurier (foot) has no timetable for a potential return to action, per Stephen Igoe of 247Sports.com.

"Eli DeLaurier, and Jay (Woodard), we don't know what's going to happen," head coach Michael Schwartz told reporters. It appears at the moment, the Pirates don't know how long they'll be without DeLaurier and he may be in danger of missing the season.

He is second in the American Conference at 9.2 rebounds.
