In his discussion with Cris Carter and Jenna Wolfe, Nick Wright reacts to the report that current Boston Celtics PG Kyrie Irving threatened to have knee surgery if Dan Gilbert and the Cleveland Cavaliers didn't trade him.

- The first thing I thought about was you.

- And your-- one of your favorite terms-- sports integrity. Where's the sports integrity? You were under a guaranteed contract for two more seasons, and if you want to ask for a trade, that is your right. If you want to quote, "demand," unquote, a trade, that is your right. If you want to threaten to not play, I will even listen to that, even if I have some issue with it.

But to threaten to have surgery you obviously do not need-- did he have surgery this off season and I didn't know about it?

- OK, he's a-- he's on some people's MVP ballots, right? We're going to have Chris Mannix on in a couple of hours. He's going to talk about he's the best point guard in the Eastern Conference. He looks perfectly healthy.

To thr-- people who are like, oh, why didn't the Cavs just-- just hold the fort? Why didn't the Cavs do what LaMarcus Aldridge did-- what the Spurs did with LaMarcus Aldridge--

- --I should say. Well, if you've got a guy threatening to submarine your year, submarine what could be your last best chance to win a title-- if LeBron's leaving, it's unconscionable. Like, there is-- there is no-- no matter what color Celtic green pajamas you wear to bed, you cannot defend a guy who says, I'm going to have a surgery I don't need to miss the season if you don't do what I want. It is the professional athlete version of I will take my ball and go home. And it's ridiculous from one of the NBA's best players.
