Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome on Ray Rice: 'It doesn't look good'

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:13 p.m. ET

INDIANAPOLIS --€“ Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said that while he hasn'€™t personally been in touch with running back Ray Rice about last week'€™s arrest, members of the team have been in contact.

After a video surfaced of Rice dragging his fiancee out of a hotel elevator, people have drawn conclusions about what happened. Newsome wouldn'€™t speculate on the matter as the team continues to gather facts, but he admitted to watching the video.

TMZ posted the video:

"I did online just like everybody else did and it doesn'€™t look good,€" Newsome said. "€œBut I'€™m going to reserve all of my comments until I talk to Ray."

Newsome called the situation "very concerning," but was adamant that the team'€™s director of security and others were getting Rice'€™s side of the story, too.

"€œAs a league we have a conduct policy and being a member of the league we will follow that from A to Z," Newsome said. "€œUp until we get to that point, right now he falls under the personal conduct policy. We would allow the league to take their position before we do."€
