Mustache mania: The Cleveland Indians are starting a rally 'stache movement (Photos)
The Cleveland Indians are starting a movement
A mustache movement.
Lonnie Chisenhall, the leader of the rally 'stache movement, proclaimed his plan to "raise awareness for mustache extinction" via Twitter on Thursday.
Starting tomorrow The @Indians will begin growing mustaches to raise awareness for their extinction..more info to follow #growone

Shortly thereafter, photos of Chisenhall's teammates in support of the rally 'stache movement began to surface on Twitter -- and as you can imagine, some of them are pretty hilarious.

Let's thank @BIGLON8 for bringing awareness to a good cause, the extinction of mustaches, anyone else joining in? pic.twitter.com/KjRF0w2r3j

Mike Aviles, T.J. House, Jason Kipnis, Cody Allen, Corey Kluber, Marc Rzepczynski, David Murphy, Bryan Shaw, Josh Tomlin and Carlos Carrasco are among the Indians players supporting mustaches. But not everyone is able to grow a mustache, so Chisenhall bought fake mustaches and passed them out to his baby-faced teammates before Friday night's game against the Royals in Kansas City.

Chisenhall has extended the challenge to all Tribe fans -- but leaves us all with some great words of wisdom:
And remember..with great mustache comes great responsibility!! #stachetag

Those are powerful words coming from a guy who once sported this disastrous mustache look:
Accorsing to Zack Meisel of Cleveland.com, when Indians manager Terry Francona was asked about the mustache craze, he said: "Cleanliness is not mandatory. As long as they play good baseball, I'm not worried about the facial hair."
Here's hoping the rally 'stache is as effective for the Indians in their postseason push as Boston's beard bonding was last season.
