Wild's Suter suspended 2 games for elbowing Pens' Downie

The NHL has suspended Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter for two games, without pay, for elbowing Pittsburgh Penguins forward Steve Downie.
Suter struck Downie on Tuesday night at 4:22 of the second period. The NHL handed down the punishment on Wednesday.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement and based on his average annual salary, Suter will forfeit $81,058.72. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Suter wasn't penalized for the hit in Pittsburgh's 7-2 victory.
