Wild place Latendresse on injured list

The Minnesota Wild have placed left wing Guillaume Latendresse on the injured list because of a groin injury.

Latendresse, who hasn't played since Oct. 25, has three goals and three assists in eight games this season after signing a two-year, $5 million contract in July to remain in Minnesota.

Also on Wednesday, the Wild recalled left wing Matt Kassian from Houston of the AHL to fill Latendresse's spot. The 24-year-old Kassian has one assist in nine games with the Aeros this season.

Kassian is a physical presence the Wild could use while playing without Latendresse. The 6-foot-5, 252-pound Kassian was a second-round pick in 2005.
