Vancouver Canucks at Carolina Hurricanes: Preview, Lineups
After a disappointing loss to the Washington Capitals on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks will try to rebound with a win against the equally-struggling Carolina Hurricanes
This hasn’t been a kind road trip to the Vancouver Canucks, who have lost three of four on a cross-continent trip.
They’ll face off the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday as they try to end a sour road trip on a sweet note.

2015-16 Record vs. Hurricanes: 2-0-0

Power Play: 13.8% (26th)
Penalty Kill: 84.8% (6th)
Leading Scorers: Daniel Sedin (29 GP - 9 G – 10 A -19 PTS), Henrik Sedin (29 GP – 7 G – 11 A – 18 PTS) Bo Horvat (29 GP – 8 G -8 A -16 PTS)
Injuries: Ryan Miller (undisclosed, day-to-day), Philip Larsen (upper body, day-to-day), Alexander Edler (broken finger, late December/early January), Derek Dorsett (neck, out for season), Chris Tanev (foot, indefinitely), Anton Rodin (knee, day-to-day).
WHO’S ON OFFENCE:
Daniel Sedin: He’s starting to show his age as he’s no longer close to being a point-per-game player. He’s still the team’s top scorer – is that a good or a bad thing?
Henrik Sedin: Henrik hasn’t lost his set up ability, but he could shoot the puck more.
WHO’S ON DEFENCE:
Erik Gudbranson: His name has floated around in trade rumors. He’s worth watching each night because each inconsistent game makes a trade more likely.
WHO’S IN NET:
Jacob Markstrom: With Ryan Miller struggling to stay healthy, now’s the time for Markstrom to step up and show he can be a reliable number one goalie.
PROJECTED LINEUP:

OVERVIEW:
2016-17 Record: 11-11-6
Home Record: 7-3
2015-16 Record vs. Canucks: 0-2-0
Goals For: 69
Goals Against: 76
Power Play: 20.7% (9th)
Penalty Kill: 92.1% (1st)
Leading Scorers: Jeff Skinner (27 GP -9 G -13 A -22 PTS), Victor Rask (28 GP – 9 G -12 A -21 PTS), Teuvo Teravainen (28 GP -7 G -6 A -13 PTS).
Injuries: Elias Lindholm (lower body, day-to-day), Jordan Staal (concussion, indefinitely), Eddie Lack (concussion, day-to-day), Bryan Bickell (illness, indefinitely).
WHO’S ON OFFENCE:
Jeff Skinner: He’s far-and-away Carolina’s best player. Skinner’s speed could be a problem for a Canucks team that isn’t, well, very fast.
Jordan Staal: He’s playing just fine without brother Eric in Carolina. Staal’s effective as a goal-scorer and a penalty killer.
WHO’S ON DEFENCE:
Noah Hanifin: He continues to make strides on a Hurricanes defensive core that’s among the NHL’s best. His puck-moving is out of this world.
WHO’S IN NET:
Cam Ward: Ward always seems to have problems playing against the Canucks. Does he change it all here?
PROJECTED LINEUP:
Lee Stempniak — Teuvo Teravainen — Sebastian Aho

Phil Di Giuseppe — Victor Rask — Brock McGinn
Viktor Stalberg – Jay McClement — Joakim Nordstrom
