The roster includes four goaltenders, 11 defensemen and 20 forwards. That group will be joined by standouts from the Young Stars Classic.

Players likely to attend main camp include AHL sophomores like Jordan Subban and Cole Cassels, drafted prospects like Thatcher Demko and Olli Juolevi, and free-agent signings like Troy Stecher.

With six players competing in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, the Canucks might have to rely on other players for a large part of the preseason. That will give prospects and AHL players the chance to leave a lasting impression and get a chance to crack the NHL roster out of camp.

The preseason is set to kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA, with a game against the San Jose Sharks. Vancouver will play a total of seven preseason games against their Pacific Division rivals, four of which will be played at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
