Uptown Puck: Tampa DJ spins Lightning-themed cover of popular tune

A Tampa Bay DJ created an area hit when he produced a Lightning-themed version of the popular Mark Ronson song "Uptown Funk". According to FOX 13 Tampa Bay, Orlando Davis, a DJ for Tampa's Wild 94.1, spent 10 minutes rewriting the song to center around the Lightning. He played the finished version on the radio soon after, and his efforts quickly went viral.

The song is so popular in Tampa that Amalie Arena, the home of the Lightning, now plays the song at games. "Uptown Puck" works many of the team's players into the lyrics, and Davis even kept the potent "Triplets" line together, as the first chorus goes, "Tyler Johnson's getting through you, Kucherov can do you, Palat's got skills to move you."

Davis told FOX 13 he believes the radio station's version of the song did so well due to the passion in Tampa right now for hockey.

"That's always my true test to a radio station's success," Davis said in an interview with FOX 13. "When you can see what the city is caring about and passionate about and push that."

Don't believe him? Just watch.
