Toronto Maple Leafs: Marlies Prospect Report
As the Toronto Maple Leafs enter the youth movement in year two of their rebuild. The Toronto Marlies are also benefiting from the influx of young talent that is coming into the Ricoh.
With so much young talent trickling to the Marlies, I have decided to compile information on a weekly basis to let everyone know how some of the Toronto Maple Leafs top prospects on the team are doing.
This week’s report will cover the game versus the Rochester Americans and a back-to-back series against the Manitoba Moose.
Now without further adieu, here’s the first installment of the Marlies Report.

Recapping the week
After being named CCM/AHL Player of the Week, Kasperi Kapanen continued his scoring touch by netting two goals in two games. After being in the shadow of William Nylander last season, Kapanen is now a key focus of the Marlies offense and has made the most of his opportunity.
Furthermore, Leipsic is another forward who’s making the most of his opportunity with four points in three games this past week as he now leads the AHL in scoring with nine points.
Overall, the top prospects on the team were a little quiet this week, which is not a bad thing for the defensive prospects.
Nevertheless, a couple goals and a few assists for the prospects this week, but the Marlies were about to win two out of the three games over the past week.
This week the Marlies will host the Providence Bruins and a back-to-back away series with the Albany Devils, so here’s hoping a few of the prospects can breakout offensively.
