Toews out 2 weeks with injured shoulder

Published Dec. 29, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews will be out two weeks with a shoulder injury.

Coach Joel Quenneville disclosed the severity of the injury after practice Wednesday.

Toews was injured Tuesday night in a loss at St. Louis. He was checked hard into the boards by Matt D'Agostini in the first period and got up holding his right shoulder.

Toews is Chicago's second-leading scorer with 33 points, including 15 goals. Chicago has struggled with injuries this season and only recently welcomed back Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane.
