Thrashers sign free-agent F Dawes from Calgary

The Thrashers have signed unrestricted free agent forward Nigel Dawes, who had 32 points for the Calgary Flames last season.

The 25-year-old left winger scored 14 goals and added 18 assists in 66 games with the Flames.

The Thrashers also on Monday re-signed forward Niclas Bergfors, who had a combined 44 points with Atlanta and New Jersey last season. The 23-year-old winger came to Atlanta as part of the deal that sent Ilya Kovalchuk to the Devils.

Dawes has 83 points in 199 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, Phoenix and Calgary.
