With the salary cap being such an important player in the way teams are managed and talent is paid, it's hard to believe some of the ludicrously long contracts doled out in recent years. GMs must be kicking themselves that they didn't have in their negotiations whatever Mike Gillis had in his to get the Sedins to agree to five-year deals at a reasonable $6.1 million each.
