Stars' Loui Eriksson leaves with upper-body injury

Dallas Stars forward Loui Eriksson left Tuesday night's game against the San Jose Sharks with what the club termed an upper-body injury.

Eriksson, third on the Stars with 23 goals, was hit in the head area on an open-ice check by San Jose's Douglas Murray with 16:08 left in the second period. At the next stoppage in play, Eriksson skated slowly off the ice, went to the locker room and did not return.

Steve Ott of the Stars fought Murray 20 seconds after Eriksson's injury, and Ott received instigator and misconduct penalties in addition to a matching fighting penalty with Murray.
