Stars' Lehtonen out with back problem

Published Dec. 10, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen sat out the Stars' game Friday night against Carolina because of stiffness in his lower back and also is expected to miss a game Saturday night in Phoenix.

Backup Andrew Raycroft got the start against Carolina. Rookie Richard Bachman was the backup.

Raycroft also started Wednesday night in a 5-3 loss at Chicago.

Lehtonen started 22 of the first 27 games, with Raycroft getting the other five. Lehtonen was limited to 58 games over the previous two seasons because of groin and back problems.
