St. Louis trades 2 for 1 to Columbus

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Brendan Bell and forward Tomas Kana from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Pascal Pelletier (pehl-uh-tee-AY').

Columbus general manager Scott Howson announced the trade on Tuesday. Bell and Kana have been assigned to the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.

The 26-year-old Bell has seven goals and 21 assists in 101 career NHL games with Toronto, Phoenix and Ottawa.

The 22-year-old Kana was the 31st overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Blues and has split the last two years between the AHL and East Coast Hockey League.

The 26-year-old Pelletier has played 13 NHL games with Boston and Chicago.
