Senators' rookie Mark Stone makes baseball fandom mistake

Published Aug. 10, 2015 10:58 a.m. ET

Mark Stone had a sensational rookie year on the ice for the Ottawa Senators, but it looks like he is struggling off the ice with how to be a Major League Baseball fan.

Like many others in Ontario, Stone seems to have gotten caught up in the recent success of the Toronto Blue Jays, who are currently on an eight-game win streak and now sit just 1 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees in the AL East. But the success of the Blue Jays is causing some serious issues for the winger.

Apparently Stone did not get the memo that baseball hats are all about loyalty to a team and not in any way about fashion choices.

It won't be long until Stone gets back to what he does best, though, as Senators training camp starts next month and Stone will get to work on building off a stellar rookie year. The 23-year-old ranked third on the team in scoring last season, as he recorded 64 points (26 goals, 38 assists) in 80 games.
