Senators backup goaltender Robin Lehner agreed to a three-year contract with the team that will pay him a reported $6.675 million over the life of the deal.

The 23-year-old Lehner, who is the team's No. 2 netminder behind Craig Anderson, played in 36 games last year, compiling a 12-15-6 record with a 3.06 goals against average. In 61 career NHL contests, Lehner is 21-24-10 with a 2.82 GAA and .918 save percentage.

Lehner was a second-round pick (No. 46 overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft and helped the Binghamton Senators win the 2010-11 Calder Cup. Lehner earned the Jack. A. Butterfield Trophy as the postseason MVP.

Anderson has one more year remaining on his contract, so Lehner could be the team's starter in 2015-16 if the Senators believe he's ready.
