Senators GM: Subban threatened Stone before slash

The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are extending their series off the ice and engaging in a war of words.
The Canadiens and Senators renewed their rivalry Wednesday night in a thrilling 4-3 win for Montreal. The game’s outcome might have been overshadowed some by P.K. Subban’s ejection, which followed his slash of budding Sens star Mark Stone.
The NHL reportedly decided not to suspend Subban for his actions. Not long after that news broke, however, the Senators announced that Stone suffered a microfracture in his right wrist and his availability moving forward is questionable.
Sens general manager Bryan Murray addressed the media Thursday in Montreal, echoing the postgame comments of head coach Dave Cameron and saying he felt Subban should have been suspended. Furthermore, Murray accused Subban of threatening Stone - twice - during Game 1.
Murray said that Subban "twice threatened Stone before the slash," according to David Amber of Rogers NHL.
Unsurprisingly, Subban later told reporters he didn’t threaten Stone. Subban actually pulled no punches during his media availability Thursday.
When asked if he plans to reach out to Stone, Subban simply told reporters "no."
"I've been slashed a lot harder than that," he added, per Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
