Sedin ruled out for Game 1

Vancouver Canucks star Daniel Sedin has been ruled out for Game 1 of the team's first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings.

Sedin, who leads the Canucks with 30 goals, missed the last nine games of the regular season after suffering a concussion in late March.

"There is nothing new to report. Obviously he's not going to play tonight," Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault said Wednesday, according to NHL.com.

Sedin, who has not spoken to reporters since suffering the injury after taking an elbow to the head from Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith, did not participate in Vancouver's morning skate ahead of Wednesday night's clash with the Kings.
