Black Swan Stable's Sean Avery romped to an 113/4-length victory over Awesome Son in the $75,000 Longfellow Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday.

Ridden by Joe Bravo and trained by Allen Iwinski, Sean Avery covered the six furlongs in 1:09 1/5. The 5-year-old gelding returned $4.80, $2.40 and $2.40 in winning for the fifth time in eight career starts.

Awesome Son paid $3 and $2.80, while Hillswick finished third in the field of six and returned $3.60.

"That was real impressive," Bravo said. "Around the turn he was pulling on me and gave me every indication he would be tough. I just held on and enjoyed the ride."
